Process Engineer- Welding

About the role

JSC (Jefferson Southern Corporation) is a Tier One automotive supplier producing stamped-steel welded parts for the “white body” (interior shell) of vehicles—components critical to strength, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through start-up and certification.
• Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data.
• Design, run, test, and upgrade systems and processes.
• Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
• Perform process simulations and track production efficiency (OEE, Cycle/Time, SPM).
• Perform risk assessments and provide process documentation and operating instructions.
• Develop, configure, and optimize line layout and material flow in the weld department.
• Establish lean manufacturing processes and implement effective line-side presentation.
• Support identification of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) types and routes, leading to a safe work environment.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering.
• Proven work experience in process engineering.
• Knowledge of process-related standards and experience in process simulations.
• Working knowledge of process engineering software packages.
• CAD or AutoCAD skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Environmental & Physical Demands

The role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp objects, and constant loud noise. Essential physical demands include:

• Frequent use of hands to touch and handle objects.
• Ability to hear, talk, and see (including close vision).
• Prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, and balancing.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
