About the role
GAF is constructing its newest shingle manufacturing facility in Newton, KS, and is hiring a Process Engineer to lead Quality and Process Improvement projects.
We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for this position.
Essential Duties
- Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product and process qualification and capability studies.
- Perform PPA/FMEA on all major process and raw material changes.
- Train production personnel on Statistical process Control (SPC).
- Lead the application and interpretation of SPC charting.
- Train and educate personnel on company products, plant and corporate quality policies and procedures; including internal and external personnel, suppliers and customers.
- Conduct internal compliance audits of production tests, process specifications, plant change notices (PCN’s) and other in-plant processes.
- Cook up and coordinate Plant Trials with R&D and plant personnel.
- Ensure trials are accurately conducted and reported.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years process engineering experience
- Ability to lead a team
- Works well in difficult and time pressure situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC and AutoCAD.
