Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Contribute to thermal-fluid and heat-transfer modeling for nuclear applications, translating analysis into practical design decisions.
- Support structural and materials evaluations using modern simulation tools.
- Help link results to reliability and safety objectives.
- Draft clear technical documentation: design specs, test plans, and verification procedures.
- Collaborate with senior engineers across mechanical, nuclear, and systems disciplines to integrate models with real equipment.
- Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and system verification activities.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Systems Engineering).
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Academic or project experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or structural analysis.
- Experience with flow calculations.
- Experience with P&IDs.
- Familiarity with modeling tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB, etc.
Health & Safety
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
Location Details
- Active Q Clearance.
- Centrus Energy – Oak Ridge, TN
- Initial year contract with extension and/or conversion options possible.
- Onsite position 4/10 Schedule.
