Process engineer co-op (2027)

About the role

The Process Engineer Co-op will be directly involved in special projects designed to improve process efficiency and productivity. They will work with Production Superintendents, the Quality Manager, and Process Engineers on projects including:

• Process improvement, cost reduction, and optimization opportunities
• Chemical trials designed to increase quality and productivity
• Equipment start-up and optimization
• Statistical analysis of finished product properties
• Involvement with customers regarding special trials or quality issues
• Support for Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the facility by partnering with subject matter experts to identify and implement process improvements

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or university and working toward a Chemical Engineering or Paper Science degree
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
