Process Engineer
Job Summary
Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize production processes for MV Products. Key responsibilities include capacity planning, functional testing, CAPEX management, performance reporting, process optimization, risk mitigation, training, and supporting new product introductions.Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed time studies for core production.
Update Standard Costs and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate MRP and capacity forecasting.
Oversee or develop procedures for dielectric, insulation, and performance testing to ensure all units meet industry standards (IEEE/ANSI/IEC).
Identify needs for new technology or increased capacity and prepare Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) justifications, including ROI analysis and technical specifications for executive approval.
Track and report key manufacturing metrics such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), First Pass Yield (FPY), and total Scrap Costs to senior management.
Optimize transformer assembly processes to improve efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
Develop, maintain, and update detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Quality Control Plans to proactively identify risks in manufacturing and prevent expensive material scrap and labor waste.
Support the introduction of new products (NPI) to the production line.
Train operators on new processes, equipment, and all applicable procedures.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering – required
Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environment
Knowledge in CAD software (AutoCAD) and 3D modeling – preferred
Experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S, etc.) – required
Knowledge of industry standards like IEEE, IEC, or ANSI – preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and CAD software – preferred
Familiarity with electrical testing protocols (e.g., Ratio test, Hi pot test) – preferred
