Process Engineer
Position Description
Title: Process Engineer
Department: Engineering
Immediate Supervisor: Operations Manager
Status: Exempt Salaried Position
Purpose: Recommend improved processes, procedures, equipment, and materials which will enhance the safety, quality and efficiency in the manufacturing of IPG's products.
Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and conduct employee training sessions as needed for new equipment and processes.
- Develops and implements production methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Recommend equipment and processes for manufacture of new products.
- Investigate and provide remedies for manufacturing process problems.
- As required, establish working relationships with outside personnel to meet project objectives.
Essential Skills And Experience
- BS degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or other technical field.
- 4-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Solid data analytic skills.
- Strong interest and support of continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic chemical, mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- High level of computer literacy, specifically MS Office.
- Understanding of plastics chemistry and extrusion process.
- Recommended experience with advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, IIOT or advanced process control.
- Recommended knowledge in the Toyota Production System.
- Recommended Six Sigma certification or experience.
- Experience in sustainable practices such as zero landfill or C2C.
