Essential Functions
- Project Management:
- Define process capability requirements of new production lines (both current and future)
- Designs layout of plant taking into consideration the current and future requirements of new production lines, best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and OSHA/EPA compliance
- Captures equipment and machinery integration
- Studies product and its requirements, using mathematical methods such as operations research, to meet those requirements and design manufacturing and information systems
- Creates necessary documentation of new line (e.g. troubleshooting guides, environmental, etc.)
- Trains employees on operation of new line
- Continuous Process Improvement:
- Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
- Might participate in developing management systems for cost analysis
- Participates in documenting and maintaining ISO 9001-2008 Quality Systems
- Participates in Continuous Process Improvement programs and takes an active role on committees and in work groups
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar from a four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiar with ISO, Six Sigma, SPC, TQM, MRP, JIT, FMEA, and lean principles
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, process charts, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

- Computer literate in Windows 7, MS Office 2010, and proficient with AutoCAD – strong preference for someone with MS Project experience (e.g. Gantt charts)
