Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer NPI (New Product Introduction), you will be responsible for the design and development of new and/or improved manufacturing processes and ensuring efficient and effective design transfer of product into production. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a cross functional team member as primary process and manufacturing expert on new product introduction cross functional teams.
  • Assessing process capabilities, prioritizing process improvement opportunities, and innovating and implementing process improvements on new development projects.
  • Applying technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
  • Executing the functional deliverables associated with the CAPA, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Planning, organizing, and conducting all aspects of manufacturing technical reviews.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements.
  • Writing and reviewing validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
  • Overseeing development builds associated with the project using technical work requests.
  • Providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Conveying the process and manufacturing limits and capabilities to the development team.
  • Contributing ideas to or generating Intellectual Property submissions.
  • Participating in lean reviews, and Kaizen events.
  • Coaching technicians or other engineering support employees as needed.

Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in science or BSME, or related Engineering, and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a process/manufacturing engineering role.

Skills

Desired characteristics include previous experience in the areas of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, and Process Control Concepts, Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Validation and product/process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Experience with data analysis (Minitab), Measurement Systems (CMM’s, Vision Inspection and Profilometers), CAD Software (Solid Works, MasterCAM), and GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994 is also preferred.
