Process Engineer
Why We Need You
A Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency, and planning factory layouts to optimize production. This engineer will also develop and implement World Class Manufacturing projects, production and processing methods, and controls to meet customer-based quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. They will ensure processes are centered, capable, in control, reduce process variations, and resolve special causes of variation. They will evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control. They analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data, then provide management with reports containing data and statistics to enable management to better understand future manufacturing requirements. They ensure that the company's manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations. They review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs, along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements, to assist management in decision-making. They analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. They coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and ensure that manufacturer procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational. They complete material and energy balances and develop process alternatives. They use Focus Improvement and Kaizen tools. They are able to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and troubleshoot effectively. They participate in and run trials at manufacturing facilities to evaluate equipment, process, and raw material opportunities. They understand and practice WCM tools. They evaluate and recommend alternatives; implement selected projects for cost improvement.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of professional process experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of experience in project management and project engineering fundamentals
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in the use of computer systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work with others to organize, plan, and solve problems at all organizational levels
