Process Engineer
About the role
Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team at the Kenedy, TX location. This role is visible and significant within the company and the Engineering function, reporting to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Aid in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentation
- Support and troubleshoot process operations
- Develop process designs and procedures for new products
- Accurately and comprehensively report test results
- Review process designs and procedures for safe and environmentally sound operation
- Provide programming assistance for process control computers
- Comply with plant safety and environmental policies
- Report all safety, environmental, and quality risks and hazards, and chemical releases
- Conduct activities in accordance with good manufacturing practices
- Lead the facility's continuous improvement program, focusing on Lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering field
- Good written and oral communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experience
- Knowledge in programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and ladder logic
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Polymer chemistry
- Bulk powder handling expertise
