About the role

The Process Development Analytics group within PMPD (Preclinical Manufacturing Process Development) focuses on analyzing samples for quality and impurity data, characterizing, and optimizing assay robustness, precision, and accuracy. The group seeks a Laboratory Scientist or Engineer with expertise in analytical characterization of biopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high throughput biophysical/biochemical analysis of samples from manufacturing process development and research projects.
  • Carry out experiments to enhance the statistical understanding of assay performance and collaborate with multi-functional teams to interpret results.
  • Communicate findings as a representative of the PMPD Analytics group at various internal projects.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to develop novel analytical assays and investigate new analytical technologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and throughput within the PMPD Analytics group.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in biochemistry, chemical, or biochemical engineering or a related field.
  • A Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in the same fields.
  • Working knowledge of modern methods of protein research, including liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and immunoassays.
  • An interest in high throughput analytical methodologies and their application in biopharmaceutical manufacturing process development.
  • A strong interest in joining a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • A good understanding of the principles and practices in one or more fields of analytical methodology, such as size and charge variant-based analysis, reversed phase or mixed mode chromatography.
  • Knowledge of statistical analyses and statistical design of experiments is preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and techniques.

Salary Range (annually): $93,900.00 - $153,300.00
