An established engineering and industrial technology company is seeking a Controls / Process Control Engineer to design and implement controls solutions for complex industrial systems, working from initial engineering concepts through programming, commissioning, and field support. This is a remote position for candidates living in Minnesota or Wisconsin, with occasional visits to the company's Vadnais Heights, MN office and approximately 10% travel throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and support industrial control systems.
- Program and modify Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems.
- Develop and support process control applications for industrial equipment and facilities.
- Work with industrial instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, switches, and other field devices.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems to industrial automation and process control applications.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop control strategies, I/O documentation, electrical schematics, and system specifications.
- Participate in equipment startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support.
- Provide technical support for complex automation and process control issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of engineering experience with an emphasis on controls and automation.
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and software.
- Industrial process control experience.
- Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex industrial problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and field personnel.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% throughout the United States.
- Must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
