Process Characterization Technician

Role and Responsibilities

• Execute process characterization experiments and engineering trials following defined procedures and protocols.
• Collect, organize, and analyze process and inspection/metrology data to support engineering evaluations.
• Perform defect inspection and characterization using microscopy, metrology tools and analytical equipment.
• Support statistical process control monitoring and assist in identifying process excursions or abnormal trends.
• Document experiment results, observations, and process changes in engineering reports and tracking databases.
• Afford assistance in root cause investigations for process deviations, yield issues, and equipment related concerns.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational procedures in manufacturing environments.

Skills and Experience

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or high-tech production environments.
• Experience supporting engineering characterization or NPI activities.
• Understanding of DOE (Design of experiments) methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
• Basic computer proficiency including excel, data tracking systems and reporting tools.
• Experience operation or analyzing data from SEM tools is a strong plus.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment for extended periods.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
