Process Automation Controls Engineer

About the role

This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of automation capital projects from design to commissioning
• Champion safety adherence in operational work processes
• Serve as the technical authority on project deliverables and standards
• Collaborate with site leadership and engineering teams for effective project execution
• Monitor project compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Deliver control system configuration services at NA sites
• Provide automation support for lifecycle management and cybersecurity needs

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Controls Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Chemical/Petrochemical/Pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Proven track record of leading control-focused engineering projects
• Understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) like Emerson DeltaV or ABB 800xA
• Strong leadership and communication skills, able to engage teams effectively
• Expertise in control philosophy and knowledge of production manufacturing processes

Pay

$107,500 – $157,663 annually
