About the role
The Process Assistant is assigned to the Area Manager and will hold responsibilities specific to different Fulfillment Center areas.
Responsibilities
- Support and work in the department as required
- Help support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers
- Provide vacation coverage for Area Managers
- Provide policy follow-up and attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)
- Track and report ATS/labor hours
- Assist the floor as an associate resource, train associates, and verify SOP compliance
- Ensure successful area performance through tracking, reporting, and feedback of associate performance
- Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives
- Fill in as needed with production duties
- Fully understand workflow and daily production goals
- Review and update SOP as required
- Assist in keeping work area clean and organized
- Identify and address safety hazards within the work area
- Coach associates to work safely at all times
- Participate in safety initiatives
- Refer all job injuries immediately to the area manager
Requirements
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Work 40 hours/week, with overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Education beyond high school and/or prior experience managing employees
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of associates and management
- Experience with an FC kaizen or Shingi event
- Awareness and willingness to use Operational Excellence (OE) tools and techniques
- Experience working in Problem Solve
- Leadership ability
