Process and General Operator

Responsibilities

• Assemble and electrically test products according to production schedule with focus on quality, cost, and schedule.
• Carry out tasks such as mechanical assembly, electrical testing, basic soldering, product packaging, paint preparation, and material handling.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and management to ensure safety, cost, quality, and schedule are met.
• Maintain tools, work instructions, and equipment to the correct standard and ensure cleanliness of assemblies, workstations, and general working area.
• Work collaboratively with managers to develop team working and ensure individual career and personal development plans are in place.
• Maintain records of production builds and assist with work in other areas of the site as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience of mechanical or process assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good manual dexterity for working with complex assemblies.
• Proficiency in using small hand tools and measuring equipment such as feeler gauges, clock gauges, and torque tools.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturing instruction sheets and basic engineering drawings.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and business improvement techniques.

Qualifications

The role requires Security Clearance (SC). While it is advantageous if the candidate currently holds this clearance, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergoes, achieves, and maintains SC Clearance prior to commencement of employment. Residency requirements for SC clearance vary based on the candidate's history in the UK.
