Position Summary
Jax Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Procedure Technician to support physicians during interventional pain management procedures. The Procedure Technician plays a critical role in preparing procedure rooms, assisting providers before, during, and after procedures, maintaining sterile technique, preparing equipment and supplies, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare procedure rooms with the necessary equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Avoid assisting physicians during interventional pain management procedures while maintaining sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
- Position and prepare patients for procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Absorb and document patient vital signs and assist with patient assessments as directed.
- Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain procedure equipment and instruments according to established protocols.
- Avoid assist with room turnover to ensure efficient patient flow and timely procedure scheduling.
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify leadership of supply needs.
- Accurately document clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Avoid ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention standards, and Company policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and front office staff to provide high-quality patient care.
- Avoid Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
- Avoid Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, Surgical Technology program, or equivalent clinical training.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a physician practice, ambulatory surgery center, or outpatient procedural setting.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Preferred Experience
- In pain management, orthopedics, neurology, sports medicine, or ambulatory surgery.
- Experience assisting with fluoroscopic or image-guided procedures.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Experience with inventory management and procedure room setup.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
