Procedural Technician - Big Flats Surgical Center - Part Time

About the Role

Aids the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• BLS certification within 1 year
• Previous patient care and some medical background preferred

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the physician and Registered Nurse, assists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to provide optimal patient outcomes
• Recognizes risk factors and complications related to the procedures
• Competent in all equipment/supplies used for each procedure and able to troubleshoot issues
• Maintains all equipment/supplies, including:
  • Prepare/set up for procedures
  • Cleaning and disinfecting after procedures
  • Stocking rooms with supplies
  • Pulling equipment/supplies for upcoming procedures
• Performs basic aseptic technique
• Follows standard precautions and utilizes disease-specific guidelines as per CDC
• Adheres to policies and procedures related to dress attire and universal protocol
• Consistently shows good judgment by appreciating cost and quality
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary in the performance of this position

Pay

$17.00 - $22.82/hour, depending on experience
