Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversight of pro bono attorney active roster
- Recruitment and training of pro bono professionals and other volunteers
- Development and implementation of trainings in substantive areas of law for pro bono volunteers
- Closely work with the Pro Bono Paralegal and Deputy Director to prepare cases and clients for a smooth assignment process
- Provide legal advice to pro bono clients in matters involving nonprofit corporate governance
- Assist with client and case support for volunteer attorneys handling pro bono cases
- Maintain case information and outcomes in the case management system
- Create opportunities for recognition of clients and pro bono volunteers
- Aid in grant applications and oversee data maintenance and reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Maryland Bar
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Experience with legal research and writing
- Knowledge of nonprofit corporate governance
- Experience with grant writing and reporting
- Experience with case management systems
