Pro Bono Program Staff Attorney

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversight of pro bono attorney active roster
  • Recruitment and training of pro bono professionals and other volunteers
  • Development and implementation of trainings in substantive areas of law for pro bono volunteers
  • Closely work with the Pro Bono Paralegal and Deputy Director to prepare cases and clients for a smooth assignment process
  • Provide legal advice to pro bono clients in matters involving nonprofit corporate governance
  • Assist with client and case support for volunteer attorneys handling pro bono cases
  • Maintain case information and outcomes in the case management system
  • Create opportunities for recognition of clients and pro bono volunteers
  • Aid in grant applications and oversee data maintenance and reporting

Qualifications

Required:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Experience with legal research and writing
  • Knowledge of nonprofit corporate governance
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting
  • Experience with case management systems

Pay
