Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height and weight for clinic patients and places patient in clinic exam room.
• Performs venipuncture as ordered.
• Responsible for properly labeling all blood samples and submitting to lab.
• Cleans and maintains exam rooms with the appropriate level of supplies and maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Performs back-office functions such as fax filing in the EMR, chart prep, and phone coverage as needed.
• Affords assistance in the front desk area with patient check-in, scheduling, and appointment verification.
• Documents medical information including necessary CMS Merit-Based Incentive System (MIPS) information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited school.
