About the role
We are currently seeking a PRN Telemetry Technician to support our Early Phase Clinical Research Unit. This is a PRN, on-site position, with hours based on study needs, including early mornings, extended hours, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Use clinical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment to support participant safety and data accuracy in a fast-paced research environment.
- Continuous cardiac monitoring and accurate interpretation of telemetry data.
- Prompt identification and communication of rhythm changes or abnormalities.
- Accurate collection and documentation of vital signs.
- Preparation, placement, and recording of ECGs/Holter monitors.
- Support emergency response procedures per clinical research standards.
- Aid with room setup, equipment preparation, and study readiness.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment.
- Support screening and participant monitoring as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required by study protocols.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
- 0-1 year of telemetry experience.
- Prior clinical or patient-care experience preferred (telemetry, cardiac, acute care, or hospital setting ideal).
Qualifications
- Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.
- Frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Variable hours may be required.
