PRN Speech Pathologist

About the role

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health provides diagnosis and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders. This role works closely with a dedicated team to support patients in their recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and apply therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation
  • Provide, interpret, and plan patient evaluations and treatments
  • Continually review and revise the plan of care as needed
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to the physician
  • Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members on treatment techniques
  • Perform voice evaluations and bedside swallow evaluations
  • Demonstrate competency with MBSs for adults and pediatrics
  • Follow Code Blue and other protocols as per Clinic policy
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by the Joint Commission

Requirements

  • Masters, Doctorate, or SLP-D Degree from an accredited School of Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registered in the State of Florida with a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP)
  • Certified in the American-Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) with a CCC-SLP
  • Eligible for a Speech Pathologist (SP) license in the state of Florida
  • Minimum of 4 weekend days per 8-week period and 1 major and 2 minor holidays per year
  • Floating across all Martin Health sites as needed

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Schedule

This role is PRN (Per Request Not Required), working 8-hour shifts between 7:00AM – 6:00PM with flexibility on start/end times. Flexibility includes working weekends and holidays as required.
