PRN Senior Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Willowbrook - Houston, Tx

Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join their team at the Willowbrook location in Houston, Texas. This position can be at level I, II, or Senior based on experience.

This position supports the Willowbrook location in Northwest Houston, which offers advanced cancer care including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, CAR-T therapy, and precision medicine. Located near Willowbrook Mall, Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve, and Mandolin Gardens Park, this center provides convenient access to healthcare and recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Informs physician of patient reschedules and no-shows.
• Performs other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
• Entry-level position requiring zero to three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Level II: Three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant, with phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Level Senior: Five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting, with current BLS certification required.
