PRN RN –NICU
About the Role

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is a Level IV, state-of-the-art, 17-bed intensive care unit designed to care for newborns with the most complex medical needs. Our team also cares for mothers with high-risk pregnancies, including cases involving fetal surgeries and specialized procedures, placing us at the forefront of obstetric care globally.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN, BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire)
- If in a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of employment
- One year of current acute care RN experience (External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience)
- Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments required
- Will consider licensed military RN experience
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule
PRN position with 12-hour shifts: 7:00am—7:30pm (1st shift) or 7:00pm—7:30am (3rd shift).
Pay
Minimum hourly: $43.00 | Maximum hourly: $43.00
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. The displayed pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
