About the Role
A Respiratory Therapist III delivers advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in critical settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, administer aerosolized medications, and manage ventilators, airway, and arterial blood gases.
- Provide patient and family education, coordinate care with healthcare teams, and promote best practices in respiratory therapy.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, ensure patient safety, and participate in performance improvement (PI) projects.
- Mentor new staff, students, and peers, and assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures and diagnostic testing.
- Maintain documentation, promote evidence-based practices, and adhere to policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Valid certifications including RCP, NBRC-RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in critical care areas such as ICU, CVICU, NICU, Burn units, or Emergency Departments.
Skills
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills and ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
