About the role

CenterPointe Hospital Columbia is seeking compassionate nurses to join our 80-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Columbia, MO. Ideal candidates will have a passion for behavioral health nursing and a commitment to making a positive impact on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and develop nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about various health conditions.
  • Provide nursing care and services according to state and facility policies and procedures.
  • Notify physicians of significant patient changes and ensure accurate medication administration.
  • Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients while respecting professional boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or eligibility to practice in accordance with state requirements.
  • One year of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse settings.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided).

Skills

  • Knowledge of universal precautions in patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$38 - $49/hour + shift differentials.

Schedule

Qualifications

Must have a current RN license and CPR certification. First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
