About the Role
This is a PRN (as needed) position supporting our Lab Services team at our Essen Lane location in Baton Rouge, LA.
Scope: Collect specimens for laboratory analysis and prepare them for processing. Greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner. Utilize laboratory software to register patients into the system for proper specimen processing, maximizing in-house lab processing.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
- Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered.
- Process specimens for internal and external processing.
- Manage the lab area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
- Phlebotomy Certification highly preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in a lab required; oncology experience preferred.
