About the Role

Cardinal Health provides comprehensive clinical and operational pharmacy services for PAM Health, a nationwide healthcare provider for Rehabilitation and Long-Term Acute Care. PAM is expanding with a 42-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Services into Waterbury, CT. We are hiring a PRN Technician to work as needed. Pharmacy Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Inputs patient data and order information as needed into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Fills and labels medications.
  • Refills Pyxis and delivers patient-specific medications after pharmacist verification.
  • Prepares and compounds sterile IV mixtures as required.
  • Communicates with all healthcare professionals and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Active CT Pharmacy Technician License required.
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) or ability to obtain preferred.
  • Inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Pyxis experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones, and tablets.
  • May require vendor credentialing.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for the entire shift.

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $21.20 per hour - $27.18 per hour
