PRN Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• IV compounding.
• Packages and ships medications.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Enters medical supply orders into the pharmacy system.
• Communicates with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians in a professional manner.
• Processes returned medications for credit or destruction.
• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

• A high school degree or equivalent is preferred.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) is preferred.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
• Flexibility in working schedule is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong customer service skills are necessary.
• The ability to perform repetitive motions and tasks is important.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and exercise sound judgment is required.
• Knowledge of and ability to use technology such as computers, smartphones, and tablets is beneficial.

Pay & Benefits

Anticipated hourly range: $18.10 per hour - $25.40 per hour.

Bonus eligible: No.
