Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- IV compounding.
- Packages and ships medications.
- Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
- Enters medical supply orders into the pharmacy system.
- Communicates with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians in a professional manner.
- Processes returned medications for credit or destruction.
- Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
- Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) is preferred.
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Flexibility in working schedule is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong customer service skills are necessary.
- The ability to perform repetitive motions and tasks is important.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and exercise sound judgment is required.
- Knowledge of and ability to use technology such as computers, smartphones, and tablets is beneficial.
Pay & Benefits
Anticipated hourly range: $18.10 per hour - $25.40 per hour.
Bonus eligible: No.
