The PRN Patient Services Associate (PSA) plays a vital role in supporting patient-centered care within a medical practice, ensuring smooth patient flow and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient arrivals and departures
- Handle calls and inquiries, and schedule appointments
- Update insurance and billing information
- Perform point-of-service activities, including:
- Anticipating and addressing patient needs
- Managing service recovery
- Collecting copays and obtaining signatures
- Verifying insurance and updating electronic medical records (EMR)
- Communicate wait times and manage referrals and pre-authorizations
- Maintain knowledge of insurance and billing procedures
- Resolve work queues and order supplies
- Adhere to regulatory standards and embrace process changes
Requirements
- Epic certification and successful completion of EPIC scheduling training
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 4+ years of customer service or completion of a pathway program
