PRN Patient Service Representative

About the role

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position offers the opportunity to attend a 2-week training at the North Arlington center.

Responsibilities

• Answers inbound calls to the Center and provides a friendly greeting to all patients and/or providers.
• Checks scheduled patients in/out and ensures proper documentation is received from the patient.
• Collects co-pays, co-insurance, and deductible if necessary.
• Listens and resolves patient, provider, and customer complaints.
• Communicates to the PSR Lead and/or Area Manager as needed.
• Ensures accurate data entry for patient registration.
• Aids in medical records as needed.
• Manages eRIS Center workflow, including daily schedule, billing complete, priors grid, delinquent exams, waitlist, report delivery queues, and collection of TOS.
• Stays informed about carrier-related issues and identifies carrier-specific concerns.
• Maintains schedules and ensures all data, attachments, history, etc., are completed before exams are finished.
• Facilitates no-show appointments (calling patients, cancelling, rescheduling).
• Monitors waiting room to prevent long wait times and assists patients as needed.
• Requests orders and processes new/same-day requests.
• Requests all patients to complete a satisfaction survey after their exam.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One plus year of experience providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver, and a team player.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
