PRN Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant - Hickory NC

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and addressing patient concerns
• Assist surgeons by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment during procedures
• Ensure the surgical environment is maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards
• Provide post-operative instructions and support to patients to promote optimal recovery
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic health records (EHR)
• Cook up with administrative staff to schedule appointments and follow-up visits efficiently

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mohs Surgery experience required
• Experience working in dermatology is required
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare software
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical protocols
