About the role
The Medication Technician position at MBK Senior Living is designed for those who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with certification or education as required by state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Aid residents with their daily medications, treatments, and resident care as assigned.
- Notify Supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s).
- Maintain clear, accurate, complete, and confidential records on resident medication and care.
- Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills, notify the pharmacy, and report any missing medications.
- Assist caregivers in their duties and document appropriate information, including incident reports.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and resident alerts or requests.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of prior related work experience in a similar healthcare role.
- Experience handling medications is preferred, but on-the-job training is available.
- Age 18 or older.
- CPR & First Aid certification.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Willingness and ability to effectively manage and respond to resident behaviors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with technology for documentation.
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions and manage stressful or emergency situations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds.
- Positive and professional image in accordance with MBK values.
Skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills are essential. The ability to interact effectively and professionally with various stakeholders is also crucial.
