PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Days and Nights

Join our team at RHA Health Services as a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and those facing mental health and substance use challenges. This is a satisfying and fun opportunity for a positive and personable individual in a group home setting in Cartersville, GA.

PRN associates must complete a required two-week new hire orientation, held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please apply only if you can attend and complete this mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Observe, assist with gathering health-related data, and report the health needs of the people we support to the registered nurse
• Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for people supported
• Document nursing care provided
• Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable
• Provide health-related trainings to unlicensed personnel according to state regulations
• Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency according to state regulations
• Conduct medication closet assessments
• Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health-related tasks as assigned according to state regulations
• Observe for and report any abnormal health-related findings to the physician
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
• Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
• Current LPN license with no restrictions to practice nursing
• Current CPR Certification or eligibility to certify for CPR
• Possess credentials required by Federal or State law
• Ability to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, the people supported, and their families
• Ability to work independently, be organized, and prioritize work tasks
• At least 18 years of age

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and occasionally pull at least 40 lbs.
• Squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties
• Use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, requiring working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting
• Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision
• Ability to talk and hear (Exception: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs require fluency in American Sign Language (ASL); the requirement to talk and hear does not apply)

Pay

$32/hr

Schedule

• PRN (as needed, minimum 2 shifts a month)
• 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. OR 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

• Complete criminal background check

• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements

• For positions requiring driving: Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, if required for providing transportation for individuals
