About River Place Behavioral Health

River Place was created to serve individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by mental illness and certain co-occurring disorders. Our inpatient programming is designed for adults ages 18 and above who need intensive services in order to achieve stabilization and prepare for continued progress. Depending upon each patient’s specific needs and goals, their personalized treatment plan may include medication management services, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Our programming also includes daily experiential therapies, such as art, music, and movement/exercise therapy. Following completion of care, each individual receives a detailed discharge plan identifying professional referrals, community-based resources, and other supports to help maintain and build upon progress achieved during treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based group therapy.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
• Create, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain a clinical caseload.
• Participate in treatment team meetings.
• Evaluate patient needs.
• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat diagnosed emotional and behavioral health disorders.
• Conduct individual, group, or family sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan.
• Provide initial treatment planning and coordinate additional services, revising as necessary.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services according to facility and professional standards.
• Provide case management, discharge planning, or after-care planning according to the treatment plan.
• May assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention.
• May coordinate clinical and psychosocial or educational activities with patients and their families.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients and work to resolve complaints while prioritizing patient safety.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related therapeutic field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of therapy experience, including at least two (2) years with the facility’s patient population.
• State or national licensure for professional therapy providers (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or PLPC).
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
