About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring accurate identification and routing, and supporting departmental production goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
- Meet department activity and production goals
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- One year or more of prior clinical/lab experience (preferred)
- One year or more of prior knowledge of specimen accessioning (preferred)
- One year or more of prior experience with human anatomy concepts (preferred)
- One year or more of previous experience in production or manufacturing (preferred)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Able to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Able to work overtime as needed

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible only for the 401(k) Plan. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
Schedule
This is a per diem/PRN position with hours as needed and varying start and end times.
