About the role
The PRN Clinic Dentist at David Raines Community Health Centers is responsible for providing direct dental care to all patients within the assigned clinics. This position requires adherence to established policies and protocols, as well as following OSHA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct dental care to clinic patients including examination, diagnosis, and treatment according to established policy and protocol.
- Accepts emergency calls as scheduled or as needed.
- Maintains communication with other staff members and participates in planning and implementing health service improvements.
- Evaluates performance of dental department personnel and ensures the proper assessment fees for patient services in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviews clinic fee schedule and program activities.
- Directs and coordinates performance improvement activities of the dental department.
- Documents appropriate patient education and completes charts in a timely manner.
- Meets with patients to set and achieve management goals.
- Performs depression screening on all adult patients and addresses adverse reactions.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree of foreign equivalent.
- Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Louisiana.
- Five years of relevant experience in practice.
- Experience with electronic health records, preferably Next Gen or similar EHR systems.
- Availability to work after hours and weekends as required by management.
Qualifications
