PRN Float Pool Surgical Tech
Job Summary
As a Certified Surgical Tech in our Float Pool, you must be willing to travel between our three Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the Capital Division in Northern Virginia to include Reston Surgery Center, Fairfax Surgical Center and Stone Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dulles.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred)
- Surgical Tech Certification
- Two years experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center)
- Valid BCLS Certification upon employment
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role of the surgical technician in accordance with the Association of Surgical Technologists
- Absorb and assist in the preparation of the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments
- Maintain surgical asepsis in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings
- Turnover the operating room suites between cases, disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces
- Prepare the procedure room for use the following day by bringing in equipment, setting up, "pulling cases" accurately, and reporting to supervisor items that are needed and not available
- Float to our three Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the Capital Division in Northern Virginia to include Reston Surgery Center, Fairfax Surgical Center and Stone Springs Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dulles
