About the Role

This position involves registering patients in an emergency room setting, collecting necessary information, verifying insurance, and initiating financial counseling. The role serves as the primary point of contact for initial patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient registration details and signatures.
• Verify insurance and authorizations, enter data into the system.
• Collect copayments and payments, ensuring accurate receipt processing.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide effective communication.
• Meet collection goals and refer uninsured patients to financial assistance programs.
• Utilize computer systems proficiently for accessing information and communication.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; two years of college coursework preferred.
• Minimum 6 months customer service experience; knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Typing speed of at least 35 WPM; medical office experience preferred.
