About the role
Join our team of healthcare professionals as a Substance Use Counselor. You will work closely with individuals facing substance use disorders, providing compassionate individual, group, and family therapy. This role includes crisis intervention services, psychoeducation presentations, and facilitating experiential learning groups. You will collaborate with our experienced treatment team to formulate the Master Treatment Plan and coordinate discharge planning, supporting individuals in achieving lasting recovery.
Responsibilities
- Maintain open communication with facility staff, attending clinicians, physicians, clients, and families
- Serve as a liaison with community agencies, vendors, and payers of health services
- Review assessments from referring facilities and note problems/issues that require further attention
- Gather comprehensive diagnostic information through psychosocial assessment interviews
- Develop an Integrated Summary, bringing together information from all assessments to identify problem areas that may affect treatment and/or need to be addressed in treatment planning
- Develop a comprehensive problem list that reflects the client’s individual issues as described in the assessments and Integrated Summary
- Present psychosocial and diagnostic information to the treatment team in a clear, concise manner
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field (Required)
- Current license in the state of Ohio (Required)
- Minimum of one year of experience in addiction counseling
- Knowledge of ethics and professional standards
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices
- Understanding of substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, and privacy practices
Preferred license/certification: LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, MFT, or LMFT.
Schedule
- 8-hour shift
- Weekends as needed
