PRN ASC RN Specialty

About the Role

The Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center, part of Cleveland Clinic, offers world-class care in a state-of-the-art facility specializing in primary care, outpatient surgery, imaging, and more. As an ASC RN supporting Endoscopy and PACU, you will collaborate with physicians and anesthesia providers to screen, diagnose, and treat gastrointestinal conditions through procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs. This PRN position involves working days between 5:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC.
• Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC, including assessing patient care needs and planning care delivery using the nursing process.
• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care and assume charge responsibilities.
• Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
• Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
• Process patients through the ASC and assess personnel skills and resource availability to meet patient outcomes.
• Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission.
• Monitor and evaluate cost-effective practices within the ASC.
• Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs.
• Complete mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements.
• Contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere and maintain patient and caregiver confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA within six months of hire.
• For pediatric care, completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through AHA or the American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Background in OR, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, Radiology, ICU, or ED.
• Post-operation or Pre-operation experience.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
