About the role
The Private Wealth Advisor is a trusted advisor who serves ultra-affluent clients and prospects with investible assets of >$5MM and sophisticated, complex needs. Through a team-led approach, the advisor helps families and business owners at every life stage achieve their banking, long-term planning, and wealth preservation goals. The role involves collaborating with a dedicated team of experts to deliver holistic financial solutions, including personalized education, advice, guidance, and tailored product/service offerings.
The objective is to provide comprehensive, fiduciary-standard solutions spanning investment management, specialized asset management, financial planning, business succession planning, and credit/depository services. The advisor will broaden customer relationships by deeply understanding individual needs and ensuring long-term financial well-being.
Responsibilities
- Leverage specialty resources in a team-led approach to deliver long-term planning, investment advice, and wealth preservation solutions for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
- Surround clients with a team of experts to manage and preserve multi-generational wealth, utilizing the Family Office’s comprehensive service set (holistic governance, planning, family education, and concierge services).
- Transform client needs into relevant product and service offerings, exceeding expectations through sophisticated analytical thought and innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with Trust, Planning, and Investment teams to address holistic client needs, interpreting internal and external business challenges to recommend forward-looking solutions.
- Provide personalized education, advice, and solutions using integrated delivery of investment management, fiduciary advice, specialized asset management, financial planning, business succession planning, and credit/depository services.
- Deepen client relationships by understanding individual needs and committing to a fiduciary standard.
- Grow and retain Wealth Management relationships through effective relationship skills, sales strategies, and engagement with internal/external sources, ensuring business results align with segment goals and profitability objectives.
- Drive new client acquisition through targeted prospecting, referrals, networking, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop and execute a business development plan to expand the UHNW client base and increase share of wallet with existing relationships.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives to raise profile and attract new business.
- Leverage internal and external centers of influence (e.g., investment bankers, attorneys, accountants) to identify new UHNW prospects.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and conduct regular follow-up to convert opportunities into long-term relationships.
- Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships.
- Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, FINRA/SEC regulations, and the bank’s BSA/AML Program as applicable to job duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree helpful.
- 10+ years of experience in the Wealth Management industry.
- Specialized expertise in one or more of the following: Investment Management, Trust, Estate Planning, or Business Succession Planning.
- Proven success in business development and relationship management.
- Ability to provide investment advice and guidance to clients with highly complex and sophisticated financial relationships.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the finance industry and the local, state, national, and global economy.
- Exceptional listening skills to understand and deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to client needs.
- Ability to communicate confidently with ultra-affluent clients and prospects, demonstrating poise, conviction, and executive presence.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Flexibility in schedule to accommodate client meetings outside normal business hours.
- State Life, Accident & Health, and Variable Contract insurance licenses, or ability to obtain them.
- Professional certifications or degrees such as CRPC, CFP, CPA, CFA, CWS, CTFA, CFM, MBA, or JD, or ability to earn accreditation.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.; no future sponsorship required.
