Job Summary

About the Role

Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, prepares lesson plans, builds relationships with students and parents, and maintains records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans accordingly.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents.
• Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules.
• Maintains records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.).
• Fulfills YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Completes related reports as necessary.
• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment.
• Reports damaged equipment.
• Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or documentation of current certification).
• Ability to work well on a team, communicate effectively, and commit to high-quality programming.

Qualifications

• General Physical Requirements: Medium work, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, visual acuity, and protection from weather conditions.
