Private Piano Teacher - Westminster, MD

About the Role

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service and the area's largest family-owned music retailer, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable piano instructor to join our team at our Westminster studio. We provide high-quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment. We're looking for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that truly values education.

Availability Needed

• One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or
• One recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays

What You'll Do

• Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment
• Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities
• Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff
• Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using our digital scheduling system
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm every day

Requirements

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
• A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment

$29 - $36/hr, depending on education & experience
