Private Investigator
About the role
DigiStream Investigations, a fast-growing, national private investigation firm, is seeking a Surveillance Investigator for our team in the Inland Empire Region. This role offers excitement, travel, autonomy, and purpose, ideal for individuals with an adventurous and curious spirit. You’ll provide clients with the evidence they need to defend their cases while gaining hands-on experience in covert investigations.
The skills you learn here can lead to careers in FBI/Law Enforcement, State Crime Lab, legal professions, security, corporate investigations, or investigative journalism.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, follow, and videotape subjects during their day-to-day activities.
- Conduct vehicle and foot pursuit of subjects while maintaining cover.
- Film subjects in various locations, from grocery stores and restaurants to sporting events and casinos.
- Develop pre-surveillance strategies based on location and case details.
- Write detailed reports on observed activities and submit video evidence.
- Maintain regular communication with team leaders on setup positions, activity, and tactics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Ability to work 50 hours per week on average (includes commute and drive time).
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight on remote assignments.
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to start work as early as 5:00 AM daily, with occasional evening work.
- Must currently live in the greater Inland Empire area.
- Ability to pass DMV check and background check.
- Confident driving skills.
Note: The surveillance vehicle is entrusted to you and kept at your residence. Travel to and from assignments begins and ends at your residence.

Pay
Starting pay: $20.00 per hour.
Schedule
- 5 days per week, averaging 10–12 hours per day (including weekends and holidays).
- Must be available to work any of the 7 days of the week.
