Private Investigator

About the role

DigiStream Investigations is seeking a private investigator to join our team in the Bakersfield, CA region. This position offers a mix of excitement, travel, autonomy, and purpose.

Responsibilities

• Conduct covert investigations to support clients in defending fraudulent Worker's Compensation claims.
• Monitor, follow, and videotape subjects as part of their daily activities.
• Participate in vehicle and foot pursuits of subjects while maintaining cover.
• Develop and execute surveillance strategies based on case details and setup locations.
• Write detailed reports on observed activities and submit video evidence.
• Communicate with team leaders about setup positions, activity, and tactics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Aged 21 or older.
• Average of 50 hours per week, including commute and drive time.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight on remote assignments as needed.
• Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Confidence in driving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting covert investigations.
• Ability to pass a DMV check and background check.

Pay

$50,000-$65,000+ range, including paid commute time.

Schedule

Full-time, 40-55 hours per week average, 10-11 hours per day average, depending on travel distance to the case and back to your home (commute time in the company vehicle is "on the clock").
