Private Equity Valuations & Analytics, Associate

About the role
The Portfolio Management - Valuations and Analytics team supports Blackstone’s Private Equity group by preparing, evaluating, analyzing, and summarizing portfolio investment valuation results. The team also handles ad hoc and recurring analyses related to portfolio monitoring and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare valuation models, reviews, presentations for leaders, and ad-hoc deliverables
- Update valuation templates each quarter, including discounted cash flow (DCF), performance multiple (PM), and other valuation models
- Apply valuation methodologies in line with Blackstone’s valuation policy and external guidance (e.g., ASC 820)
- Drive the onboarding process for new portfolio investments and ensure proper data collection procedures
- Respond to auditor inquiries and coordinate valuation reviews with third-party valuation firms
- Enhance and improve the group’s valuations and reporting processes, procedures, offshore resources, and technology
- Create and develop presentation materials to communicate results within the Private Equity group and wider Blackstone
- Assist in presenting valuation results to internal committees, external auditors, and limited partners
- Collaborate with Private Equity Management Reporting to provide inputs and portfolio investment information for planning deliverables
- Maintain relationships with deal professionals, Institutional Client Services, Portfolio Operations, Accounting, Operations, and Finance teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a similar discipline (CFA and/or CPA a plus)
- 3+ years of experience in valuations, transaction services, private equity, consulting, or other relevant analytical roles
- Experience in a dynamic environment requiring execution of recurring deliverables and project-based initiatives
- Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and valuation approaches (e.g., Income, Market, Yield Analysis, OPM, Contingent Claims, PWERM)
- Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and ability to interact confidently with deal professionals and portfolio company representatives
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Pay
Expected annual base salary range: $110,000 - $150,000. Actual base salary will be determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles outside the U.S., compensation follows a separate process based on local market comparables.
