Job Summary
Looking for mission-aligned individuals to join my research lab in Toronto. Our lab focuses on applying machine learning to longevity research, specifically developing ML-based pipelines for efficient exploration of chemical space and discovering anti-aging interventions. Initial focus areas include cellular senescence and cryoprotectant discovery.
About the Lab
The lab is a joint appointment between The Hospital for Sick Children (Canada's largest research hospital), the Computer Science Department of the University of Toronto, and the Vector Institute (a leading AI institute). Collaborations span cellular senescence, chemistry, and machine learning, including ongoing work with Genentech.
Responsibilities
- Develop ML-based pipelines for chemical space exploration
- Utilize generative models and active learning techniques
- Collaborate with experts in cellular senescence and chemistry
- Work on synthesis of molecule candidates and parallel synthesis
- Contribute to the creation of self-driving labs
Requirements
- Strong background in machine learning
- Experience with generative models and active learning
- Interest in longevity research and chemical space exploration
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- PhD in Machine Learning or related field
- Experience with computational chemistry tools
- Strong programming skills (Python, R, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
