Private Equity Associate / VP | +$2B AUM, Generalist | LA

About the role

An operationally focused private equity firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their team as a Private Equity Associate or Vice President. The firm invests across traditional buyouts, restructurings, and special situations, with a diverse portfolio spanning Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, and Business Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of deal execution, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and preparation of investment committee materials.
• Oversee junior team members and ensure high-quality work across analyses and deliverables.
• Partner with portfolio company management teams to drive operational improvements and strategic growth initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and assist in value creation planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, advisors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of private equity experience required; additional experience in investment banking or management consulting is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills with a proven ability to lead complex transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing junior team members.
• High level of integrity, work ethic, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
