Private Equity Associate

About the Role

This Associate role is on the deal team of this lower middle-market PE firm with offices in Miami, FL. This is an emerging fund raising their first fund with a target of $350M. There is significant opportunity to grow with this firm!

Key Responsibilities

• Create financial models to analyze cash flows, investment returns, and enterprise values for new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies
• Prepare memos and other approval materials for the Investment Committee
• Conduct research on market size, growth prospects, demand drivers, key competitors, etc.
• Facilitate diligence activities with third-party partners (e.g., senior lenders, accountants, attorneys, IT consultants, strategy consultants)
• Assist with ongoing monitoring and strategic projects for portfolio companies
• Compile financial reports and valuation estimates of current portfolio companies for current and potential investors
• Work closely with senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• An undergraduate business degree demonstrating academic proficiency
• 1-2 years of investment banking experience preferred
• Background in Leveraged Finance (LevFin) or M&A
• Preference for candidates with PE-relevant industry experience, not consulting
• Experience working in small, hands-on teams, not just big firms with minimal deal exposure
• Candidates seeking growth and long-term commitment
